I'm planning to do a whole series of illustrations based on the Pleistocene era. Here is my first.

I'm really digging the idea you have going for this; the color scheme works and value is great as in all your other pieces!
My biggest issue with this is that shield...were you trying to hide his arm? I think it would be showing at least a little bit, and I'd like to see the right arm as well, even if it's just a glimpse of his hand holding the spear.
The skull head piece is a neat idea but i feel that it's not big enough to be believable and yet if it was bigger he'd look like he'd topple over...does that make sense?? What if you just left the lower jaw and a sort of a guard against the vulnerable neck and replaced the top part of the skull with a headdress like a cloak or something made out of hides so you can still keep his face hidden. Keep it up tho it's looking good!
