New Project

My money is on the bottom Rasputin cover I think. It's a bit dark showing him drowning...BUT when nothing else will work. I am really feeling like the type is still kinda weak on all of them. Tweaking is a must, but I feel like they are going in a strong direction. The goal is the have a book cover with limited color. The colors I used in these little comps will be much more limited and muted in the final. Any type advise let me hear it. Thanks.

I like the story of Marie Antoinette to much not to push you towards that one.

I say keep playing with them. Do new compositions, and forget about the type for now. the napoleon cover shouldn't be done, at least not with that composition, because Sterling Hundley already split Napoleon's face down the center in an awesome cover for Napoleon and Josephine, the Sword and the Hummingbird. Check it. And when you do get to the type, which i recommend you don't get to for a while, try something that isn't all capital letters. Illustrators love capital letters. I know I do. And that is why Ad Graph laughs at us. Image first. Type later. Illustrator, not Typerator... sounds like a dinosaur...
