Funny People.

Things I've been having fun with as of late. First is gouche. Rest are pencil. The second, mob boss one is most likely going to turn into an AOI/SOI piece.

Excuse the crappy post format. Having trouble moving the images around.

Haha Mike great post! I'm really liking all of these I especially like the first one, I'm telling you man when you step outside your box its gold. My only critique on anything is that I think the values on the cowboy may be getting a bit to close causing him to looked a bit grayed out. But the design is still nice.

And I don't know how you did it but you managed to make that damn Alex beaver even funnier...damn you.

Dude, I laughed at that fuckin' beaver for like 20 minutes last night. And I'm chuckling just thinking about it now. But about your post now... I love all of them, and contrary to what alex says, even though the values are getting close... that cowboy looks great, I love the exaggerations on the stance and features. And the mob boss should make a pretty sweet finish, although I guess it depends on what you do with it... but yea, it is good to see you stepping outta the Guns and mohawks realm... I mean that with respect and love mike

directional hatching <3

love when people really play with features down to complete redesigns of the skull's structure-- cartoony but still very weighted in reality.

You know I comment on the cowboys value. But I think he is the one I would love to see pushed to a finish. Personally.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Actually alex, I was talking to McKissick, and he told me the cowboy was way more interesting. Then I asked Groff what he thought and he said he liked it. So I'm looking into getting it blown up on to cold press, and I'm gonna throw oils on it. The other guy will be fixed up and some parts redrawn, but I'm hoping to do him as well. Going behind the cowboy will be a vignette of landscape and some sun.

We got alot of SOI assignments coming up. So why not haha.
