Jelly

A digital painting done for design class.

Does anything jump out to anyone as being an affront to good taste?

It took me awhile to notice the diver and he really gives this piece its interest. i think you could separate him more by darkening him

I Agree with Phill. It is a really sweet looking piece I would suggest using some rim lighting or something just to crisp up the edges of the figure...

hmmmm, im assuming that the new one is the smaller one below, I do like the piece overall more now that you darkened it but it didnt really fix your problem with noticing the diver as much as I think you should. I think you could go in and separate just him a little bit more

Heh, no. The new one is the larger one.

Ah ok, then i retract my previous statement, he definately seperates much more in the new one

It kills me that you post your work so small. I really want to see how you are pulling off some of this brushwork. You are rocking a pretty unique thing. What can I say, great atmosphere and fun idea. I wouldn't mind a bit more definition on the jelly fish. Not sure if I would have got what they were without a title. I almost just see a gelatinous landscape. BUt that seems what you were going for with their positioning. But it leaves me wondering what would happen if you utilized jelly's in the background going away from the pack, just as a confirmation for the viewer.
