This is looking good so far, I would just like to know if the pooch is supposed to grow in size from the one on the bottom compared to the one on the top? Because as it stands, that dog got hit with some radiation, godzilla style.

What do I think? lol, I think you're taking your inspiration very literally. haha. But seriously, I do agree with David. Gus is huge compared to his hand in the first panel. I like the soft feel of the actual work though. The proportions in the second drawing seem a bit weird in terms of vanishing points too. I think it's just the relationship of the night stand to the bed. Other than that, lookin pretty good!

Thanks guys, and yes Gus is supposed to be bigger in the night shot. It's in the boys dreams. haha not radiation.

I figured as much. I was going to ask if it was psychological, but a godzilla reference is a lot more entertaining. I am sure you will have that explained well enough in the book. Good work with the light source in the top one.

Yeah, that night stand is doing some weird things. I'm kind of half and half on these. The technique and styling says children's book. But for some children's book illustrations they still feel pretty safe. I mean, what is going to set this book apart from the others?

First Illustration is pretty rockin'. I like the rim lighting on the dog especially. Seriously cool. Great textures. Asspats all around. I am wondering how exactly that pillow is standing upright though. Actually looking at it now... is the dog where the nightstand should be?

Bottom one. That nightstand. Is really driving me crazy haha. And the bed gets bigger as it goes back in space instead of smaller. It just messes with your eyes too much. You may just make a smaller child throw up from the confusion. Base board on the wall also goes to an entirely different vanishing point. The charm of it saves it for the most part, but my brain keeps bringing me back to these parts.

Sidenote: So many children's illustrations have those wooden swords... Why did I never have one of these? I think I missed out.

Yeah I took it in to class and Boley suggested cutting it up and seeing what I could salvage and then paint new pieces and photoshop them in. With three others to do just in this class I am not to sure if starting over would be a good idea for me right now but I agree with everyone's feed back. I don't know how I missed all these things, but one got pointed out then everything came out at once. haha. I'll see what I can do. Thanks.

Sidenote: I had one Mike, you did miss out. It was badass.
