Lonely Rhino

Finally I am beginning to be somewhat productive this summer. This is just a third part of a series I am working on. The hope by the end of it is that they will feel like similar but not necessarily identical in execution... I don't know, I have never tried to do this before so we will see how it goes. haha. Either way i had fun doing this pieces for the simple fact that this is an adoribly lonley little Rhino.

love the birds and their color! maybe you could throw a shadow under the rhino that would ground him a bit and make it a similar blue green.

this looks really nice Alex. I agree with Chris I think it would be nice to have some darks under the rhino. Otherwise I love your colors and drawing!

Dear lord this picture makes me sad. He looks so down, and those thorned roses probably aren't helping the cause. Then to add to that those birds are literally walking all over him, and he broke his horn. Poor waddling, blue bastard.

Looks good though haha.I think something there to ground him would definitely help. Going to be tough with him so close to the bottom of the picture frame though. Love how the birds run together alot with the blue color. If anything, the birds steal the show for me, they just so alive. You can see them moving.

So I have a question though, If this is the third part, should I assume the birds and girl are parts 1 and 2? Or have I missed these suckers somewhere?

Cool stuff. What they said about the ground, but a great illustration nonetheless.

Im digging the drippy birds and how they break up the space of the sky, I think you could get away with having something cartoony for him to stand on like a mountain top or a teetering pile of crates, I think that would add a nice touch to it, i also like that designy white thing coming forth from his back side, but maybe you put in some more, lest someone think the poor bastard is gassy as well as sad, plus it would break up all that yellow a bit more
